Hi, I’m Satchel!
I grew up in Liberty, North Carolina, and currently attend school at UNC Chapel Hill. I have been writing, and illustrating my own picture books since I was a child and it’s the thing I still love to do.
I lived in Perth, Australia for almost three years, and that's where I learned how to design and paint murals. I also loved the way that so much of their art was native plants and animals. I was inspired to create art that would show what is beautiful about where I grew up.
I love to travel and learn languages. I have been to 12 countries and can speak Spanish and am currently learning Turkish.
Currently, I am looking for work in children’s book illustration and painting murals.
In my free time, I like to try typography, and making little animations. I also really enjoy watercoloring, and urban sketching.
